As its Regatta week we decided to arrange a trip down the river to see what was happening at Henley.

Whilst the trip was cut short due to illness, I did manage to get some video footage....

So Saturday 28th of June was the Sportsboat and Rib forum group meet and trip around the Isle of Wight.

With the weather forecasting winds of F3-F4 and sea-state Slight to Moderate we decided not to take Witch Way and to tag along as crew on Matts boat - ElJay.

5 boats in all met up off Cowes and we set off on a trip, anticlockwise, around the Island. The trip to the Needles was fine but once around the Needles the conditions caused by F3-F4 and the seas began to bite. It was a really rough trip down to and around St. Catherine's point. In hindsight it was a trip we should not have undertaken, particularly with the smaller boats.

Still they had some fun once in Whitecliffe Bay although we had retired sick (very sick!) by this point.

The pictures are in the gallery HERE
